South Eden Park Road

£60 million development bringing over 130 flats to Beckenham

This development comprises of 7 4-storey mansion blocks over a 15,000m2 basement.

We are involved in the structural, civil and geotechnical services.

Complex issues arose due to varying gridlines between the basement car park and residential superstructure blocks.

Early concept work between ourselves and the architect meant that a sensible and efficient structural grid could be implemented without affecting planning requirements.

A transfer structure was still required, however, was sensibly located which minimised volume of concrete.

The long spanning, but repetitive grid structure in line with the architectural proposals allowed for an efficient 300 thick reinforced concrete flat slab which worked minimised transfer structures over the basement car park where appropriate.
