Shelly House is a contemporary mews style development of four houses which will reinvigorate a redundant area of land behind offices in the centre of Maidenhead. The buildings are of a modern design and are of a scale that fits within the surrounding area. The houses share a cohesive modernist design with non-conventional cantilevered rooftop gardens and parking underneath.
Dark horizontal banding contrast with the façade of white render and dark grey bricks. Working with a limited budget, DCL introduced cost-effective solutions to minimise load-bearing walls, using a
steel frame on the ground floor only to support the cantilevered roof span.
