Construction Cup

11 May 2026

Last Wednesday, the DCL Consulting Engineers team had the opportunity to take part in the Construction Cup at AFC Wimbledon’s stadium - a fantastic day of football and networking.

Competing against a number of strong industry teams, we played four closely contested matches throughout the day. While the results didn’t quite go our way, every game was competitive, enjoyable, and played in great spirit.

More importantly, the event was a brilliant opportunity to connect with other professionals across the construction industry, strengthen existing relationships, and meet new faces in a relaxed and social environment.

The day highlighted values that are just as important off the pitch as they are in the workplace - teamwork, resilience, communication, and supporting one another under pressure.

A big thank you to the organisers, Black & White Engineering, and everyone involved for putting together such a well-run event. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

Drainage shouldn't just be a hidden pipe in the ground. This month, our engineering team attended the Building with Nature and SuDS seminar hosted by FORMA. Learning from Cristina Refolo and Taffeta Gray (Refolo Landscape Architects) reinforced a key philosophy: when nature is at the heart of design, technical requirements become vibrant public spaces. By integrating nature-based SuDS strategies, we're helping our clients build projects that are as sustainable as they are functional. Thanks to Cristina for the masterclass—we’re ready to put these insights into practice!
